In a world where the LBD reigns superior for body boosting confidence and an understated sexy appearance, I have to question why you wouldn’t rather wear a little red velvet dress?
It’s a colour that makes you feel powerful and in the right shade, sophisticated, whilst wearing velvet can subconsciously make you feel special.
Earlier this month we took a trip to Brighton and stayed at the Grand Hotel (blog post on the hotel coming soon), giving me the perfect excuse to wear my new red dress.
Velvet has been the coveted material that we all wanted a piece of this season and my particular dress is from a company called SHEIN, I had never ordered with them before, granted the dress took what felt like forever to arrive (3 weeks) but it was worth the wait.
For twenty something pounds, I unwrapped a beautifully fitted and luxuriously soft bodycon dress featuring padded cups (no bra necessary) and a sweetheart neckline that flatters your chest.
I teamed mine with grey and gold accessories, lace-up heels and a rounded clutch that I can see myself wearing with a lot of summer dresses.
This dainty gold chain from Hobbs I loved, however, I will confess that it broke after shortly after we had dinner so I wouldn’t recommend buying it as an investment piece.
I always opt for buying jewellery that allows you to wear it in multiple ways, it makes taking outfits from day to evening easy.
After hurrying into our party outfits we strolled down the historical flights of stairs to dinner…
Have you ever tried scampi popcorn? Neither had we!
I opted for lamb and received the tiniest portion for a higher than expected price tag and my partner went for the classic cod and chips which he said was the best he had ever had. The crispy batter did look perfect, although I don’t eat fish my food envy did flare just a little.
To finish we spent the evening in the hotel bar.
I’m a big fan of fruity/sweet cocktails, a cosmo is my fav, whilst my partner loves salty margaritas!
What’s your favourite drink?
